Ju-Ju-Berry Squares

Picked at the height of the summer season,
each berry bursts upon the taste buds like
the flare of fireworks. With laden buckets,
the family of finger-stained pickers return to
the back porch to watch and wait as mother
washes the tasty treasures. Next comes the
mashing and mixing of them into the middle
layer of her classic concoction. Firm and
flaky crust as the foundation. Lush and
bubbling berries between. Butter and sugar
browned to perfection on top.

Cha Cha Cha!!!

The fun secret is out about our new holiday prints

but have you heard the inspiration behind Shadow Waltz’s dance partner?

Naturally she is a bit spicier than the Waltz since she is a Cha Cha!!

But she is sweet too…mmmm…Chocolate!!! Read on….

Choco Cha Cha

Through the wide open window grate in the back room of his tienda,

the chocolatera hears the early preparations for the party.

He smiles silently,

knowing that the silky smooth liquid he stirs will soon be ready for crafting into

mouth-watering masterpieces…delicate dulces to be served at celebration.

As afternoon wears into evening, he hears the pitch of the festivities progress.

Outside, the revelers samba and cha cha,

providing a rhythm for his work.

He dips the last chocolate in dark cacao,

placing it on a plate and completing a perfect presentation.

Finished at last,

he hefts the platter to his shoulder with a flourish and crosses the courtyard to the serving table,

ready to unveil his sultry sweets.
